ASLA: The ASL Assessment for your students
The ASL Education Center is the sole source provider of the American Sign Language Assessment (ASLA), a computer-based standardized test evaluating the ASL language arts skills of preK-12 students. The ASLA is shown to be valid and reliable, and Individual Student Reports (ISRs) display population-referenced results on ten discrete vocabulary, grammar and syntax subtests. The ASLA platform allows students to independently log in, view instructions and test items, and select from multiple-choice answer options.
ASLA’s proctor portal allows test administrators to manage student data, track progress, create proctor accounts, and access ISRs after exams are completed.
Researchers exploring questions related to language acquisition and fluency have also found ASLA an effective tool for gathering critical data from study participants of all ages.
