ASLA: The ASL Assessment tool
of choice for your students
The ASL Education Center is the sole source provider of ASLA (American Sign Language Assessment), a computer-based standardized language arts assessment of 10 domains of ASL vocabulary and grammar designed for PreK-12 students aged 4 - 21. Test-takers easily log in, independently view ASL instructions, and respond to multiple-choice test items. ASLA has also been used in research with adult participants.
With thousands of previous test-takers’ data to compare against, ASL assessments using the ASLA are shown to be valid and reliable, and test results can be compared across schools, districts, and states from year to year.
Our new online portal allows school administrators to manage student lists, assign other administrators and proctors, start and stop the assessment, oversee proctors, monitor assessments in real time as students take it, and access reporting and scoring information instantly after each student completes their exam.
